The Party for Socialism and Liberations organized the rally, hoping to persuade President Joe Biden and other government officials to take action to protect a person’s right to an abortion.

“Having access to fair and affordable abortions is something that I believe would be beneficial to all Mississippians. Especially when it comes to things like maternal mortality rates and increasing numbers of foster children who are unprotected,” said Advocates for Youth Representative Kadin Love.
A person who gathered on Sunday said they had attended several pro-choice events since the Supreme Court overturned Roe.
“People think they can have control over women’s bodies, which, uh, no, like no. That’s so not right,” Barnett said.
