Following the Supreme Court’s June 24 decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade, hundreds of people gathered in downtown Fullerton to join a nationwide protest. These rallies and demonstrations continued on Friday, July 1. Protesters gathered at the intersection of Harbor Blvd and Commonwealth and marched through downtown Fullerton.
The protest was organized by the Orange County Chapter of RiseUp4AbortionRights. The organization is asked that “the federal government now restore legal abortion nationwide.”
Some performed street theater in the form of a ‘die-in’ depicting those who could die from unsafe abortions.
Another pro-abortion/pro-choice rally is scheduled for July 16 at 2 p.m. at Fullerton City Hall, organized by Mixed youtha BI&POC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color) youth-led coalition dedicated to mobilizing youth voices to challenge the systematic oppression of marginalized identities.
